PROFESSIONAL CAREER | Financial Plan

The start-up costs are the first major hurdle in making the transition from college to professional golf. My hope is that I will gain initial financial support through a combination of sponsorship and fundraising. My family, friends and home club are organizing a silent auction event for March 3, 2006. I’m fortunate to have such an array of supporters already who believe in me and who are dedicated to “launching Peter”.

My financial goal is to raise between $40,000 to $100,000 dollars in my first year as a pro to cover my expenses and entry fees. Based on the experiences of other players who started on developmental tours, I will earn some money along the way to offset a portion or hopefully all of these typical costs.

Specifically, the costs include such items as tour membership cards, general living and travel expenses, legal services (for example, a P-1 card for immigration), health and car insurance, golf coach, practice rounds, range balls, and access to fitness services.
