While I was an amateur, I had the luxury of ample financial support from Kent State as a member of the golf team. During the summers, my parents and the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA) covered my travel and tournament costs.

Now as a professional golfer, I must generate my own income and pay for my expenses. But to get started, I immediately have to pay a whole range of expenses for entry to play in the United States, tournament fees, travel costs and so on.

I expect to off-set the start up and continuous expenses through winnings and supplemental income. The challenge is to have some money to draw on at the beginning.
