In 2001, I was recruited by coach Herb
Page at Kent State, Ohio. Herb has a soft spot for young
Canadian golfers so I had lots of home country company
while on the team. My four exhilarating years playing
for Kent were great preparation for professional golf.
For each upcoming tournament, I had to compete against
my teammates to be able to represent the team. I managed
to win a place on the team for every tournament.
We played against the best golfers in the NCAA league.
We had many highs and lows individually and as a team.
No matter what, we learned more about golf and improved
our games.
It was fun too. Herb treated us well with top notch equipment,
clothes and accommodation on our travels.
